Properties
- Prepdeck Stripper/Cleaner is a professional, high grade product specially designed for the removing of old solid and semi transparent stains, grade stamps, mill glaze and other surface contaminants from wood
Where to use
- Prepdeck Stripper/Cleaner may be used on soft or hardwoods and thermo (burnt) wood. It is ideal for decking, fences, cladding, log homes and garden furniture.
- Dilution for Softwood i.e. Pine, Douglas Fir
New Wood:
- Removing Finishes Grade Stamps – Use Prepdeck Undiluted
- Removing Mill Glaze – Use Prepdeck diluted 1:5 with water
Weathered Wood:
- Removing Finishes – Use Prepdeck Undiluted
- Cleaning – Use Prepdeck diluted 1:20 with water
Softwoods with high Tannin / Extractive content i.e. Cedar, Redwood
New:
- Removing Finishes Grade Stamps – Use Prepdeck Undiluted
- Removing Mill Glaze – Use Prepdeck diluted 1:4 with water
Weathered: (Softwoods)
- Removing Finishes Grade Stamps – Use Prepdeck Undiluted.
- Cleaning – Use Prepdeck diluted 1:20 with water.
Recommendations for use
Before purchasing / using Prepdeck we suggest you do a simple test first.
Place a few drops of water in various areas of the (dry) wood and wait about 20 minutes to see if the drops soak in or if they remain on the surface.
If the water soaks in, you can probably bring back the original look of the wood with Net-Trol instead.
If the water does not absorb into the wood, it suggests that a coating such as a decking oil etc is still present and you need Prepdeck to remove that.
- It is strongly recommended that you neutralise the surface with Net-trol (diluted 4:1 with water) after stripping to avoid any reaction with oils etc later. [Exception – when applying Tropitech as finish]

Working time : 20 to 30 mins.
